The review is interesting and positive for the space, you should check it out. But, it makes me wonder if this pertains to the east and west coasts only. The question I ask is - does this level of craziness for mobile exist in the Midwest?
Maybe. I am seeing some glimmers of excitement, like Belly, in Chicago. After an explosion of participation in Chicagoland in just half a year, LaHive is taking Belly to Madison, WI and other cities. Maybe the folks at Lightbank have something going here. Can you foresee a Groupon-enabled loyalty program that's fun to be in AND let's you pay via your phone for even cooler rewards?
